What is that Commercial for the acne medication for?
I saw this commercial on TV of this acne medication that I really need but I can’t remember what it was called. The commercial went like this:
Teen was sitting in the middle of an aisle when a doctor walks up and tells him that acne was a medical condition and that he could get an OTC acne cream that was proven to destory acne. Side effects were dry or irritated skin etc. And you were supposed to avoid contact with the sun for a period of time.
Funny that I remember everything except the name of the medicine.

Does oral acne medication get rid of your current acne or just prevent new acne?
Or does it do both?
I’m on an oral acne medication and I haven’t been getting any new pimples, but its not getting rid of the current acne I have (I have mostly whiteheads). I’ve been on it for one week (its minocycline) I’m also using differin and a facewash so its not like im only using oral medicine but i just want to know how it works.
Also, what are the best oral acne medicines or what has worked for you?

Since I use acne medication – it drys my skin – will my skin age quicker with wrinkles?
I use acne medication and it drys out my skin. I only use moisterizer in the morning before I go to school. But at night I dont use one. Now, when my acne goes away, will my skin go back to the balanced oil skin? Or will it be permenantly damaged, and make me age quicker?
PLease stop advertising me acne products. My question is, will I age quicker with wrinkled and damage skin because of my temporary acne medicine treatment?

do acne treatments and creams cause more acne over time?
My older brother says that acne medicine and creams make pimples go away for a bit and then bring more pimples so that the company can make money off you buying their product multiple times. Is this true? and what homemade acne treatment is proven to work?

Are acne treatments such as Proactive safe for women who are pregnant or trying to conceive?
Since going off my birth control to try to conceive, my acne has flared big time. My dermatologist does not recomend using over the counter acne medicine such as Persa-Gel which contains benzoyle peroxide becuase it is unknown if it is safe for pregnant women or women who are trying to conceive. I have used Proactive in the past and it has worked really well for me. I am not pregnant but am trying to conceive. Ultimately I plan to consult my OBGYN on this but I’m curious to find out what information others have.
