What is a good acne medication?
I don’t have terrible acne. But I do break out from time to time. I have been dealing with acne my whole life. I jump from medication to medication, but nothing seems to work as well as I want it to. I still break out. My dermatologist has me on Benzaclin and Differin. They both make my acne go away quicker than usual, but I would like a medication that will prevent acne, not just slowly reduce it. The only downfall is I don’t want one that will dry out my skin. Is there even such a thing?

Does oral acne medication get rid of your current acne or just prevent new acne?
Or does it do both?
I’m on an oral acne medication and I haven’t been getting any new pimples, but its not getting rid of the current acne I have (I have mostly whiteheads). I’ve been on it for one week (its minocycline) I’m also using differin and a facewash so its not like im only using oral medicine but i just want to know how it works.
Also, what are the best oral acne medicines or what has worked for you?

Does your acne star this fast? Should I buy this acne scar remover?
Hi there, I have recently broken out in acne like crazy since three months ago or so. About a month ago my dermatologist put me on some subscriptions to reduce the acne, however now I have some significant acne scars. Does your acne do this to you too? In such short time? Anyways, to continue my question, I am planning on buying Clear Essence Advance Complex Fade Gel because I heard the sooner you treat acne scars, the faster they go away. I heard some good reviews about it, but I don’t know if it could possibly increase my acne because I still have a little (however not as much). Right now I use doryx pills, differin cream in the night, and duac cream in the morning. Thanks for any help or comments. Please no flaming or statements like: “EWW ACNE IS GROSS”.

Can I wax my legs while using an acne medication?
I’ve been reading articles saying not to wax while using acne medication (I use Differin), but they don’t expand very much. I would like to get my legs waxed, but I’m not sure if the warning only applies to my face, or all of my body. Thanks!

Murad Acne Complex- Purging?
So I’ve been using Murad for a few days and while the texture of my skin is softer and better, my breakouts are worse. I’ve stopped using the treatment gel as it made my face really red (I was an idiot and used it twice a day as instructed without letting my skin get used to it) and am now using the T-Zone Pore Regining Gel in place.
However, my skin is now in the so-called “purging” phase- little whiteheads along my mouth and cheeks, placed I’ve never gotten acne before. How long should this last before I see results? I had read a load of bad reviews after I bought and began using it (I had read only positive things on Sephora before filtering, and I also kept in mind everyone’s skin is different). I’m mainly curious about the purging… Is there anything I can do to lessen the blow?
I’m 20 by the way.
I forgot to add- I called a skin care rep at Murad and told them that it was making my face red and was advised to switch gels as the T-Zone one is way less harsh yet still effective, and use a gentle moisturizer. So the redness is now gone a day later as my skin has calmed down… But now the breakouts. =/ If it keeps up, any other brands? I’ve tried:
Proactive
Neutrogena (basically everything)
Clean & Clear
Nature’s Cure
Clinique
Differin (perscription)
Nogzema
Aveda
Burt’s Bees
St. Ives
Clearisil

What are the very best acne treatments out there?
I don’t care if it’s pills, creams, etc.
I’ve been struggling with acne for years and I’ve tried just about everything…Differin, Proactive, Clean & Clear treatment, tetracycline, etc.
I’m fed up with the stress of always feeling insecure. If you have ever had acne, you know what I mean…
thank you

What can I do for really dry skin from acne treatments?
I use differin gel on my face and it does help the acne, but it makes my skin flaky and really sensitive and sore. When I put on make-up to cover up the still existing acne, it magnifies the flaky dryness of my skin… help me!
