How To Get Rid Of Embarrassing Acne Around Your Lips

For some reason, when a person gets pimples around the lips they are more upset about this area more than any other area of the face. Generally this will then lead to them wanting to get rid of the pimple instantly and this can lead to improper procedures like squeezing the pimples or even taking a needle to the pimple or pimples and trying to pop them.

But, just like a pimple anywhere else, this is not the way to try and get rid of pimples, in fact this, in some cases only promotes them to spread because the bacteria is being spread this way. Like pimples anywhere else on the face or body, there is no true speedy way to get rid of them. Below you will find ways to help rid yourself of these annoying pimples in a more natural manner and speed.

You should clean your skin around the lips with a very mild pH balanced cleanser that is non-comedogenic along with some tepid water. Make sure to avoid using any kind of scrubbing cleansers or those abrasive cloths and scrub brushes. Stay away from hot water and cold water as well because all of these things will just irritate the skin even more, especially if you have skin that is prone to acne.

You should then apply a lotion or cream that has 2.5% benzoyl peroxide in it. Put this on the acne that is around your lips during the day. Make sure to not get any on the lips themselves. This type of preparation can be found as an over the counter treatment under a variety of different brand names. You can get higher concentrations of 5 and 10 percent but they don’t seem to be any more effective than the 2.5% and may even irritate the skin further.

Applying a light non-comedogenic moisturizer around your lips can help as well. This will help to keep the skin from drying out due to the benzoyl peroxide. Make sure that the moisturizer that you pick is one that states on the label that it is specifically made for those with acne problems.

At night you can apply spot treatments on the pimples themselves with a preparation that has a sulfur base in it. Sulfur is a great medication that can be found in a variety of different topical treatments under a variety of different brand names. You would take the treatment and put it on the individual pimples and avoid any skin that doesn’t have pimples in the area. You only want this for the areas with acne.

In the morning you can then wash your face with some tepid water and a mild cleaner. Follow it up again with the benzoyl peroxide treatment and a moisturizer. If the pimples are superficial they should disappear in about one to three days with this treatment.
