Is this a sign my acne medication is working?

I tried this new acne medication today and my face is starting too become itchy. Is this a sign it’s working? Kind of like putting medicine on a cut and feeling it itchy afterwards.
The medicine is call Benza clin, it’s a benzoyl peroxide gel that my mom told me i can use.

sounds like irritation to me. so nope, that’s not exactly good.
Itchy means it is drying your skin, or you put too much on and it is drying like paint and itching.
That is a sign your skin is exfoliating which is good but the reason behind your itching is you could have used to much or the sun has direct contact with your face.e
