Drawing blood seems pretty extreme. I’m 24 and have had acne since I was in about 6th grade until I found this random product. I tried everything and finally sat online one day looking through 8 billion reviews and ordered a facial cleanser called Acnexus on a total whim. It’s super sketchy if you look it up online. The official web site is acnexus.com but I definitely would NOT order it through them since it does look sketchy. I’ve used it a few years now and it is AMAZING. It’s just a gentle scrub that’s all natural (at least that’s what the ingredients on the bottle show) and it definitely smells and looks like it. I’m really bad about going to bed without taking off my make-up and even if I forget and don’t wash my face I still don’t get breakouts. I order it from a guy who sells it on Ebay since you can use PayPal and your payment is safe. He always sends it super fast. It doesn’t come with any sort of an order form/receipt which makes it even sketchier but I’m just glad there’s a solution to my skin problem. I’ve never found anything else that works and it makes your skin amazingly soft even after the first time you use it. I use it in the shower in the morning and then at night when I go to sleep… when I remember. Hope this helps, take the risk and buy it on Ebay, it works.
You can wear make up with any acne medication. If the acne medication is taken orally, make up is no problem. If the acne medication is a topical cream/ointment, than your make up would need to be non comedogenic (won’t clog pores.) Higher end make up brands like Clinique, Estee Lauder, etc. are all non comedogenic. If you buy your make up from a local drug store, just make sure it’s label says “non comedogenic.” This rule goes for all foundations/powders. Don’t worry about eye make up, that won’t harm your skin.
As for drawing blood; I have been on many oral acne medications, and the only one that required monthly blood tests was accutane.
Your dermatologist will determine if blood tests are necessary when you make an appointment with him.
Good luck
