Crazy Zit Myths

Getting rid of zits is not easy at all and all the myths out there do not make it any easier when it comes to trying to get rid of your acne. Not to fear zit man is here lol, but here are some just crazy myths that are out there that you need to know.

Poor hygiene
I have to admit that I thought the same thing at first but it is 100 percent not true at all! A person that rolls in the dirt for hours each day without washing his face will not have any acne problems. Sounds crazy doesn’t it. So you don’t have to scrub your face like a crazy person thinking it will get rid of your zits, because it will not. Avoid products that say the sources of your acne is oily or dirty skin because you now know it is not true that’s just how these big companies get paid.

Certain foods cause acne

Not true at all! Stop worrying about what you eat , east as much chocolate, French fries, or greasy foods as you want. But you don’t want to have the problem of being over weight, so eat right people. There hasn’t been one study that has found that a certain food causes acne. So guy and girls, until there is a study that states other wise, throw it out the window.

Popping pumps make them go away faster

Sorry but not true again! I’m amazed at how many people tell me this and they get upset when I tell them that, that’s not true. The only thing it does is make your pimples less noticeable to other people. But by popping your peoples you risk getting the sore infected and even spreading the bacteria from the pimple on you face. Which will give you more zits. Also by popping your zits you can cause dents and pits that can last your whole life. So stop popping!

Acne – What Causes It & Treatments For It

Acne maybe the scourge of adolescent years, but it can follow people into middle age and beyond. Acne is really a catchall term for a variety of symptoms such as pimples, whiteheads, and blackheads. It’s a condition where the pores of skin become clogged and the person gets inflamed and non-inflamed lesions.

So what’s the cause of all the clogging ?
Heredity – at least for the most part. Acne is genetic – it tends to run in families, it is an inherited defect of your pores. If both your parents had acne, three out of four of your brothers and sisters will get it too.

Factors that can aggravate an acne outbreak are :- Stress, sun exposure, seasonal changes, and climate can all precipitate an acne attack. Certain types of makeup and taking birth control pills can also cause a breakout.

Change Your Make-up
In adult women, make-up is the major factor in acne outbreaks, especially oil based products. It’s the oil that causes the problem. The oil is usually a derivative of fatty acids that are more potent than your own fatty acids. Use non-oil-based make-up if you are prone to acne.

Read The labels.
Cosmetic products that contain lanolins, isopropyl myristate, sodium lauryl sulphate, laureth-4 and D & C red dyes should be avoided. Like oil, these ingredients are too rich for the skin.

Wash Properly.
Wash your make-up off thoroughly every night. Use a mild soap twice a day and make sure you rinse the soap entirely off your face. Rinse six or seven times with fresh water.

Use Less Make-up.
Whatever make-up you use, try to cut down on the amount you put on.

Leave Well Alone.

Don’t squeeze pimples or whiteheads.
A pimple is an inflammation, and you could add to the inflammation by squeezing it, which could lead to an infection. A pimple will always go away in one to four weeks if you leave them alone.

Attack Blackheads.
You can also get rid of blackheads by squeezing them. A blackhead is a very blocked pore, and a gentle squeeze will help rectifty this.

Give Dry Skin Extra Care.
Dry skin can be sensitive to some over the counter skin treatments, so please use these treatments with care. Start with the lower strength products first, and then increase the concentration slowly.

Stay Out Of The Sun.
Acne medications may cause adverse reactions to the sun, so minimize you exposure until you know what the reactions going to be.

Use One Treatment At A Time.
Don’t mix treatments, use only one at a time because they may cause an adverse reaction if mixed together.

Stop The Spread Of Acne. Apply acne medication about half an inch around the affected area, to help keep the acne from spreading. Acne moves across the face from the nose to the ear, so you need to treat beyond the inflamed area. Most people make the mistake of treating only the pimples and not the outlaying areas of skin. This is wrong.

Following these simple guidelines will make a big difference to your controll of your acne.

How To Effectively Treat Various Kinds Of Acne Scars With An Effective All Natural Skin Care Cream

Acne scars are really the second phase of an unwelcome attack on one’s skin. Acne is the first phase, and afterwards a scar remains to consistenly remind you of that experience. It is helpful to know a bit more about the different types of acne to understand the different types of scars. How acne scars are formed depends on the type of acne one experiences and their depth of severity. Of course the best way to treat scars is early one before they become to the point where a scar will form. However if that does happen, rest assured as there are proven treatments that will improve their appearance with the possibility of complete removal.

The Basic Definition of Acne

The first step in the unwelcome process of acne is oil and dead skin cells being blocked within the skin’s pores. Once the skin pores are not allowed air to enter them from being blocked in this manner, acne breakouts result. The first degree of acne breakouts are mild and resemble what are popularly known as whiteheads and blackheads. The next in line in acne forms are pustules and papules. Most teenagers will know what we are talking about here. They are the red pimples with white centers in the center or the larger all red inflamed pimples, respectively. What is considered to be the severe forms of acne are nodules, cysts and lumps. This severe form of acne is what causes scars to form. Another cause in acne scars is self induced: the picking at acne.

The Proper Treatment of Acne Scars

A red or brown discoloration is what usually results from acne. These are what are known as acne spots or hyperpigmentation. Ultimately they will fade without treatment. What are known as rolling scars have a gradual dip or a recession to them. The acne scars that are narrow and deep are called ice pick scars. Boxcar scars are those that have angular edges. Under all circumstances before one treats their acne scars, it is a requisite to have the original acne under control.

The severity of the scars is what determines the best acne scar treatment to use. When treating a moderate acne scar, the doctor could suggest chemical peels or microdermabrasion. When acne scarring is more profound, there are treatments available to better treat them. One of these treatments is laser resurfacing. The damaged top layer of the skin is removed while the middle layer is tightened. The result is smoother looking skin. In the course of the treatment, local anesthesia is used, and 3 to 10 days recovery time is necessary. How dermabrasion works is the skin is sanded down using a spinning diamond tool or a wire brush. The healing time afterwards is two to three weeks and a smoother layer is the result. For acne scars that are even more deep, there are available other abrasive treatments that are more harsh to one’s skin but that may produce the desired effect. However before thinking about this level of abrasion, it is always recommended to speak with your doctor.
